Rubiyomi
You can read the kana. Then one character stops the line.
Real Japanese isn't a chart. It's a sentence with something in the middle you don't know yet.
That's when you leave the screen to look it up — and whatever you were in the middle of keeps going.
Rubiyomi stays on your Mac. Peek the reading. Don't leave.

How to practice katakana
In Type, romaji is checked as you type (シ is shi or si). The current katakana is bright; the next ones wait in line. After you answer one, click it to hear it. In Choose, tap one of four readings, or press 1–4. Missed characters come back later. Katakana is the script used for loanwords and names.
